🧲 Metal Detection Job Guide
Looking for a peaceful way to earn some cash while enjoying the ocean breeze?
The Metal Detection job is all about patience, precision, and the thrill of unearthing valuable finds buried beneath the sand.
Whether you're a curious newcomer or a seasoned relic hunter, here’s everything you need to know to get started.
Step 1: Buy Your Equipment
To begin your journey, you'll need the proper gear.
- Head to the Metal Detector Seller, marked on your GPS
- Purchase:
- A Metal Detector
- A Shovel
💡 Pro Tip: Don’t forget both items—you’ll need the shovel to actually dig anything up.
Step 2: Head to the Beach
Your detector only works on sandy terrain—don’t waste time trying to use it anywhere else.
- Head to one of the city’s beaches
- Equip your metal detector
- Start walking slowly across the sand and keep an ear out...
Step 3: Follow the Beeps
As you walk, your detector will start to beep faster and louder the closer you are to a buried item.
- When the beeping gets rapid and consistent, you’re right over the target
- Press [E] to dig with your shovel
- You’ll uncover an item, gain some XP, and be one step closer to leveling up
Step 4: Leveling Up
Every item you dig up earns you XP.
As you level up, you gain access to better metal detectors, which provide key advantages.
Level | Unlocked Detector | Benefits |
---|---|---|
Level 1 | Basic Detector | Standard speed, common finds |
Level 2 | Upgraded Coil | Slightly faster detection, better loot odds |
Level 3 | Precision Scanner | Faster sweeps, rare item chance |
Level 4 | Advanced Pulse Tech | High-value items more frequently |
Level 5 | Elite Deep-Seeker | Fastest scanning, exclusive finds |
🎯 Visit the Metal Detector Seller again at each new level to purchase your upgraded equipment.
Step 5: Cashing In Your Finds
Once you’ve collected some loot, it’s time to make some money.
- Head over to Scrapman Dave at the Scrapyard (marked on your map)
- Sell your items for cash based on their rarity and type
Scrapman Dave buys everything from rusted bolts to rare vintage coins—so don’t throw anything away.

- 🧍‍♂️ Watch out for competition—this is a public job, and others might be scanning the same patch of sand
- 💰 Dig deep, stay patient, and maybe—just maybe—you’ll strike gold
